A Starbucks mug from years ago, I believe it was a gift. It’s a big cup and after a late night and a early wakeup it’s much needed. The kid is heading down to the Springs with her boyfriend’s family for his hockey tournament. It’s early… not any earlier than a school day… but it’s early. Yep.
It’s hard to be tired when you have a cup that is Jolly and you’re listening to Christmas music… might be my philosophy this morning.
Be Jolly today my coffee peeps. Be the reason other people smile.
As with most of my closing days I tend to try and accomplish a lot before heading into work. Especially with Christmas and Ashlynn’s 16th birthday next week. So this morning I chose my cup with full intention of posting and writing about the cup. Instead I drank my first glorious sips and then went full speed into finishing up one of Ashlynn’s gifts and texting and messaging people about another and then sorting organizing Christmas gifts and bought the last couple of items I needed… all before heading into work.
So this was my Christmas cup this morning. It’s actually my favorite. It’s big, it’s cute and quirky… like me.
Meow-y Christmas my coffee lovers.
Happy sleeps and enjoy your first brews in the morning.
Today’s cup is thwarted by Colorado’s amazing sunrise. It’s beauty reminds me of the real reason this season exists.
So, todays Christmas mug is a Coca-cola Santa mug. With a picture from Haddon Sundblom’s “When Friends Drop In” painting of Santa done for Coca-cola in 1961.
I look forward every year to seeing these Santa’s and seeing the Coca-cola polar bears of late. Marketing for the win… kindof, I don’t drink soda much.
So my coffee and tea lovers, enjoy your first cups and remember the real meaning this season is to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Today this cute guy is going to give me the fuel on my first day off in 9 days.
I have lots to accomplish today. Finishing Ashlynn’s birthday present is on the top of the list… I am hand making one of her presents.
Today is also tree buying day. We won’t decorate it until Saturday since we like to let it drink up water and fall a little before decorating. I can’t wait for the smell of pine to fill the house.
I hope your first cup gives you some much needed fuel for your day as much as this cute snowman will for mine.
I’m sorry for the non posts the last 2 days. Retail manager on Black Friday weekend. Yeah.
Today however is Christmas decorating for our house. I’m so excited. My favorite time of year in our house. With Christmas music playing and decorations all around. I love sitting and watching movies with Nutcrackers, stockings, snow globes and Christmas lights up.
Happy Christmas Season my coffee lovers. Have a wonderful first cup.
Waiting and the anticipation of the first cup. The smell of the brew… my senses are waking up.
It’s also a good lesson in life. Patience. Last night I didn’t have patience. I was frustrated and annoyed with technology and didn’t have the patience to figure out what was going wrong with my site. I still don’t… but I have a way around it, I think, for the time being.
This was me this morning… rewriting the post from last night that Scott sent to my email since wordpress was being wonky. Notice my toes. The kiddo made my toes happy.
So remember my coffee lovers… it’s okay to wait. Be patient.
What follows is the post that was supposed to go out last night… but wordpress was being weird and it didn’t post.
Today my coffee lovers was full of coffee, music, laughter, cleaning, baking and snow. Lots and lots of snow. 16ish inches. Yeah, lots of snow.
First on the agenda was making pancakes. Crazy tasty pancakes. Ashlynn also had a brilliant idea of crunching up a strawberry poptart into the pancake batter. We did that as our last pancake. It wasn’t pretty but it was tasty. We all had a piece of it.
I look over as I’m cleaning the kitchen for what seemed like the millionth time and this is was happening: Ashlynn had been getting the cat comfy on the chair who was watching the snow. Ashlynn not wanting to disturb the cat because that’s a philosophy in our house (not really, more a saying) wanted to watch the snow but be near the cat herself. So I watched her slide herself under the chair and try to get comfy. I’ve raised a silly, goofy child.
All the snow. These were taken this morning before it was done snowing.
Ashlynn helped make the apple pie. This year I scaled down the pie-making. Apple and Pumpkin. What I didn’t take a picture of was the kitchen after I splattered pumpkin all over the kitchen after dropping the bowl into the pie crust as I was filling it. Comical, yes… to the husband at least. I feel like my baking abilities have been slightly off recently. Just slightly browned crust. Oh well.
Relaxing after cleaning the downstairs bathroom, living-room, kitchen and baking and a shower. Ashlynn also did some homework and cleaned her room too and Scott worked from home today and then spent almost 2 hours shoveling all the snow.
Next up… watching Santa Clause because we’re only a couple days away from the start of Christmas season and it looks like it outside and the kiddo is going to give me a pedicure.
All in all a very fun and productive snow day.
Hope all your coffees were warmth and happiness in a cup. Happy last cup of coffee my coffee lovers.
Okay, okay, okay… it’s dark outside. And it’s early. But today enjoy the beauty that is around you. The sunrise, the sunset. A smile from a stranger or a small kid. Do a small act if kindness. Be that smile in someone’s day.
I am holding a coffee mug. Apparently it’s still too dark to see
My coffee this morning… truck day.
Happy first cups…go find beauty or create it.
